Opherla had played the moments with Serena over and over and over again in her mind. What was she thinking, breaking down like that in front of her sparring partner!? What was she, a baby!? No. Opherla was a Saiyan, she was sure of that now! That wasn't her by herself getting back to her feet, that was her with her Saiyan genetics getting her back to her feet! No doubt about it… Opherla was a Saiyan. She was still a wolf… but also still a Saiyan.
Wincing as she got herself in bed, Opherla decided it was best to sleep and get ready for some more training tomorrow. She had some work to do… a lot of work to do, to catch up to Serena. Covering herself up and getting comfortable, Opherla stayed up slightly longer playing one of her mobile games before eventually passing out, and going to a deep slumber.
It was that night… a dream came to her. A dream of her past… her true past.
Suddenly, she watched as she was picked up by a lovely looking Beastfolk woman, with beautiful blonde hair and wolf features, and soft blue eyes as she held Opherla in her arms. Was this… was this her real mother? It had to be… she felt so… warm in her embrace. And the place they were in… such beautiful plant life! Such extravagant varieties of life! It was then that a Saiyan man walked up next to Opherla's mother, having a beard the same color as his hair, which was dark red. The same color as Opherla's hair! Was this her father? There was no doubt with how cordial he was with her mother! Opherla had to admit… her mother and father looked very happy with one another, and just as happy with Opherla.
"Such a wonderful child we've been graced with…" Her mother said with a gentle and loving tone.
"She'll make a fine guardian. And an even finer protector of the living." Her father said in a smooth yet fierce tone. "She's a Saiyan after all… a warrior is what she is destined to be."
"Of course. But she is also destined to be one who shares the beauties and wonders of life in all she does. Such as protecting what she loves." Her mother said with a smile.
Opherla knew what this was now. The day of her parents sending her to Earth. At long last, she finally could see the truth! Where she came from! How she got sent to Earth! All of it!
And so the information came… dreadfully. Guards rushed in, looking distressed and tired as they looked at Opherla's father.
"Sir! A descendant of the Frieza clan has arrived! He intends to destroy Subetejinsei!" The guard exclaimed.
"Arm the men! We must protect the planet! Go!" The Saiyan would say before he looked at Opherla's mother. "My dear…"
"...Yes, I do believe we must… be careful out there my love. I will join your side once our daughter is safely away from the hands of the wretched tyrant." Opherla's mother said, before she was seen running through many rooms and many halls. A member of Frieza's line? Who!? Where!? Why!? Surely Opherla's father was strong enough to take him alone! Surely this was never meant to happen!
But alas, Opherla only watched through the eyes of her baby self, clueless to it all as she continued grasping at her mother in curiosity and worry, before she was suddenly placed in the space pod…
And then Opherla's mother stopped. As time seemed to stop in the dream. "Oh, oh my! Have you… have you finally come to this dream? This memory, Opherla dear?" Opherla's mother asked, as suddenly, the scape of the world became white, as Opherla was once again herself.
"Ah, uh, I… I guess so… Mom… is it… really you?" Opherla asked.
"Yes. Yes, it's me. Please, don't worry about the contents of this dream. Your father and I… we escaped, as did few others… but our planet… is gone." Opherla's mom said in a sigh of resignation.
"Mom…" Opherla said in sorrow as she heard her tone.
"Opherla dear, listen. Your father and I know that you are capable of doing great things. You already are. So please, don't let your own self-doubt and fear come between you and success." Opherla's mom said with a soft smile. "That Majin friend of yours is right. You shouldn't ever let your lacking power stop you from fighting. You should always get up. You should always press on. No matter what." Opherla's Mom added.
"I… I have so many questions-!" Opherla exclaimed.
"I know… but for now, you must stick to my note. Gain strength. Once you are ready, go to Planet Vegeta… and learn the true ways of the Saiyan so you can best use your powers for the good of humanity everywhere in this universe." Opherla's mom said with a bright smile.
"I will, mom…" Opherla said with a bright smile.
"Now, I do believe it's time for you to get back to sleep." Opherla's mom would say.
"Wait… what's even your name?" Opherla would ask.
"Oh, dear… don't bother. Fate has cruelly decided to keep us apart… Knowing my name would only hurt you more, and yearn for me more." Opherla's mom would say. "But know this, Opherla… you are a goddess of life, born of Saiyan blood as well… learn one day to use your powers to fight and protect the planet you call home…"
"...Okay mom… I will. For you. And dad." Opherla smiled.
Opherla's mom smiled back, as Opherla's Dad came into view, looking over Opherla before nodding in approval, as he and his wife would then walk away, leaving Opherla back alone in her dreamscape… as she fell through and jolted awake, panting from what she had just witnessed.
Opherla would check the clock. 11:30 at night… it was still late, so she needed to go back to sleep… still, it was nice to finally know who her real family was, and where she truly came from. She suddenly realized she didn't hurt anymore, and checked herself over… her mother must have healed her wounds while in her dream, as Opherla smiled as she saw this.
"Thanks, mom." Opherla smiled before she layed back down in bed, and closed her eyes to sleep once more. One thing Opherla knew for utmost certain now: She was a fighter. She was a Saiyan. She was a rightful protector of the world she lived in… and that was something she would hold dear to her heart, and close to her soul. She now knew these feelings of heroism… they weren't just on a whim… they were feelings that her mother and father shared. Back on their home planet.
But Earth was Opherla's home now… and no matter what. No matter how many times she had to try, no matter how many times she had to get her ass kicked… Opherla was going to be Earth's protector. She was going to become a true and proper hero. And no one was going to stop her from achieving that victory. Self training only did so much… it was time for Opherla to find sparring partners to help her train and grow stronger, to be able to spar evenly with Serena, and to fight alongside her new friends!
